Ear aches I hate you I hate you I hate you

I found this shirt at Target for $5.99 I love it

Alayah was up all night screaming bloody murder that her ear hurt. She got so bad that she was slapping her ears and her face just crying. I finally got her to sleep around 5:30 just in time for me to get up for work at 7. I took her to the specialist this time instead of her pediatrician and he said that her right ear was draining really good, so I guess the clog pushed its way through and she is getting some relief from the pressure that had built up. He said to just put drops in her ears, so I hope that helps. He keeps telling me that teething can cause that ear pain and I have told him repeatedly that she already has all her teeth...aghh I am getting so frustrated with the run around and I'm tired of my baby hurting all the time. grrr We went to the local football game tonight and we had a good time. I love me some football.

Practicing

Practicing her superman for tumbling class

I love this girl so much. She can recognize the letter "A" now and can pick it out from a big group of letters.
Funny sayings lately

"my read" - my book
"care me" - scare me

Moment in time Monday

Alayah and I were taking a bath tonight and she started to pee in the bathtub...she looked at me and I said "why are you peeing in the bathtub" so she puts her hands on my eyes and says "go sleep mom k go sleep"

Ahh...she cracks me up lol

This girl loves her some necklaces. She came out of her room with every single one she owned around her neck

I guess my asking her to say cheese pained her lol

Sick

I was supposed to work today, but after a couple of hours I felt horrible and decided to come home and take a nap while Alayah was still at daycare. I hate being sick....Alayah is definitely glad to be back at home with her Nana.

Home

We left Vegas around 5:30am and made it home around 7pm. It was a long drive and I think it seemed a lot longer on the way home because we were so tired. We had a busy week and it was so much fun. Alayah was so glad to be home so she could see her Nana. I love how close they are.

Last Day

What everyone looked like by 8pm lol

trying out her swimsuit

Alayah and her grandma

We didn't do much today. We are all so tired that the thought of walking just does not sound appealing. After my friend and I got back from hanging out on the strip around 1am Alayah was awake crying that her ears hurt. She didn't go to sleep until around 5am. I am literally a walking zombie. I just want to lay and not move. We were going to let the girls swim, but it was too chilly today. After lunch we headed to the strip to do some last minute souvenir shopping and then came home and finished packing and loading the car. I'm sad it's time to leave already. I hate that Alayah's grandparents don't get to see her very often.

Build a Bear

I love her look of awe

We took the girls to Build a Bear today. I thought it would be something fun to do. I was bummed that I didn't get very many pictures because the card was full :( Alayah wasn't all that in to picking out a stuffed animal. She wanted one that was already put together lol. I finally gave her a couple options and she picked one. She was a little nervous about helping out with the filling, but she did have fun washing the bunny off and putting its clothes on. She named her Bunny (original I know lol)
Helping fill up her bunny...I love the one of her shoes
We were able to find the animals shirts that said Las Vegas on them which we thought were perfect. My friend and I went out for a night on the town and my mom watched the girls for us. We went to the Carnival Buffett which was super good and then we went to see "Mystere."
It was really good. After the show we gambled a little bit. I one 28 dollars on the penny slots. On the way home we stopped in front of a church and took our picture for some fun pictures. It was such a fun day :)

Fun on the strip

We took the girls to the strip today and just let them explore and I took some pictures.

We ate at Margaritaville, but I was not impressed. It was so nice out and I think I got a tan lol. I am totally enjoying the warm weather knowing that I have to go back home to snow in a few days.

I think the sun was in her eyes. Ever since the Ocean, Alayah is afraid of loud water. She wants to be as far away from it as possible. Poor girl

One of my favorites from today. We came back to the strip at night time to see the shows at the Mirage and at Treasure Island. Alayah was scared of both. She also has been calling her middle name "My Neemah" instead of "Ni'Emah" its so cute

La Jolla Beach CA

After the zoo we headed to the beach. By the time we got there it was getting dark and was about to rain. Alayah was terrified of the beach. She pretty much cried the whole time if you weren't holding her and when you did hold her she would lay her head down and close her eyes.

Grandma found a ladybug which helped distract her for a few minutes

Despite the fact she was not enjoying herself at all i still managed to get a "cheese" out of her.

I tried to get her to find sea shells, but she wasn't having any of that either. I felt bad that she was so scared and I was kind of bummed that all my dreams of beach pictures were going to be a no go lol

I figured if we got some pix of the back of our heads then i'd have some without her crying. I had never been to the ocean before, and it was so relaxing. I can't wait to go back when its warm out lol

San Diego Zoo

too cool for these glasses :)

We started our Sunday off with the San Diego Zoo. We didn't see everything the zoo had because we were just too tired after our day yesterday. We spent a good amount of time in the children's area of the zoo and the girls really enjoyed all the things they had. They got to pet some goats and I love how all the exhibits were sized just for them.

Mommy and me moment

The girls checking out our view from the hotel room

Alayah excited about petting the goat

They had a lady there who would take your childs handprint and turn it into an animal...it was so cute and I thought it was a good way to document our visit instead of a t-shirt. I was really excited to see the panda's :) Alayah loves Zebras but she fell asleep before we made it to that section.

walking with her papa

After we ate some lunch we walked the monkey trail and the tiger trail. Then Alayah fell asleep so we decided to ride the bus tour they had. It covered the half of the park we didn't make it to walking. After the bus we caught the sky tour and rode it from one side to the other and back. I wish we would have skipped that part as it made us get away from the zoo late and we were trying to make it to the beach before we left town.

SeaWorld

Riding on the Elmo ride

Waiting for the Elmo show to start

Feeding the sea lions....Alayah was too scared to touch the fish, so I had to feed them

Alayah practicing her balance beam walking

So we made it to San Diego in the wee morning hours to our hotel which my friend got us rooms at for free with her reward points. This hotel is like a 400 dollar a night hotel so you'd think they'd have exceptional service....not lol Their machine to make the room keys was down so they had to escourt us everywhere as our room was on a secure floor, so you had to use your key to get the elevator to go to our floor. Plus they charged $20 bucks a day to park in the parking garage, so we had to park on the street....down a huge hill and around the corner. It sucked. It was after 4am when we got to sleep.
When we finally got around and ready it was lunch time so we stopped and ate before heading over to Sea World.

We had a lot of fun at SeaWorld and Alayah is always asking to see fish, so I knew she would love it.

We saw the Shamu show and I don't know if Alayah knew what to think about it...she just kind of sat there. She really enjoyed seeing all the fish and would yell out "fish momma fish."

We went to see this Elmo in 4D show and everytime there was water involved it would shoot out of the seat in front of you and it made Alayah cry everytime. She kept saying "I go home mom!" I felt bad for her, but it was really cool when they had all these bubbles shooting out of the ceiling.
We also were able to go to this area called Elmo's bay of play and we got to ride some elmo themed rides and we were even able to run into the Elmo characters and Alayah got to get her picture taken with him. She was so excited and that's all she talked about.
We ended the day up with the skytower that lets you get a good view of the surrounding area. It was dark when we went up so it was cool to see all the lights of the city. As we were headed back out to our car they had a fireworks show which seemed a great way to end the night. What a special experience :)

Alayah testing out a yummy popsicle

Perusing the strip

Alayah woke up about 3am this morning with a severe croup cough. She was several shades darker than normal and was really struggling to catch her breath. I started a hot shower and sat in the bathroom with her for about 45 minutes with hot steam. When we rolled out of bed in the morning she sounded a lot better, but she was crying that her ear hurt. We navigated the closest urgent care and headed over there. Turns out it was the exact same urgent care I took her to the last time we visited Las Vegas when she was 11 months old.

They still had all her paperwork on file, so we were able to get in rather quickly. He gave her something for her ears, but nothing for her croup since she sounded fine. After the doctors we left to take the girls to the Rainforest Cafe to eat because I thought Alayah would like it since she likes animals so much. We stopped by the tiger area first and let the girls see the tigers. They also had three new baby cubs that were soooo cute.

It might have been fine had I not tried to re-create a photo in front of this robotic elephant before we went to eat. It started moving right as we posed for this picture and freaked Alayah out. Of course they seated us right next to a heard of robotic elephants that would randomly move throughout our meal so Alayah ended up on my lap for most of our lunch.

After we ate lunch we headed down to the M&M factory.

That store is crazy...It was cramped and hard to manuver around with strollers. Alayah decided she new what she wanted and tried to do some shopping on her own. After the M&M factory we walked outside and Alayah was out.

I got her a new stroller before our trip and I love it. It is so roomy and easy to push. We walked around for awhile and looked in some of the casinos. I had to pose her stroller by things to get pictures since she wasn't awake to enjoy a lot of the sites.

By the time we made it back to MGM she was awake so we posed in front of the lion and I had her pose by a little mini palm tree.

We left the strip to head back to my parents to pack so we could head down to San Diego for the weekend, but once we were back in the car Alayah's croup cough came back, so we headed back to the doctors. He prescribed her a steroid and also gave her a prescription for singular. I don't know why, but every time we leave town she gets ear infections and croup. *sigh* I don't think it will ever end....:(
We finally got out of town at 9pm...way later than we had intended to. Let me just say...I absolutely hate driving I-15 at night on a friday. Everyone from Los Angeles is headed to Vegas for the weekend. Its like one giant light train as far as the eye can see the entire drive...it was crazy and my poor eyes couldn't handle it. I felt like I needed sunglasses the whole drive even though it was the middle of the night. We finally made it to the hotel at 3:30am to a host of issues that I will tell in tomorrows posting as this one has gotten way to long lol
