Halloween 2010

We started the day out at a local pumpkin patch and Alayah got to rider herself a pony which she was over the moon about.

She also got to pet a pony which she thought was awesome.

The pumpkin patch also had carnival rides and Alayah had this look on every single one. I couldn't tell if she enjoyed them or not. Everytime she got off she asked to go on another one, but then she would look all sad and grumpy. She is so silly. She got really grumpy right after the rides so we went to eat and then came home to get ready for trick or treating.

She was a butterfly princess and she loved her costume. I loved it because all the parts are something she can use again and that makes this mama happy lol.

She wouldn't go to any houses that had decorations unless it was just pumpkins. She would literally high tail it for the other side of the street if she came upon a house that had scary decorations.

She had a great time "tick or tweeting" and I can't wait for next year. :)

Wally World

We are making friends with our new local Wal-Mart. Our walmart in WY had a horse to ride which Alayah absolutely loved, but this walmart only has pumba. She isn't as thrilled with him and still asks for the horse, but hopefully she will learn to love this big guy.

Moving Day

Today was moving day. I was so tired from yesterday I didn't want to move let alone get out of bed this morning. The plan was to leave town at 6am, but we didn't get on the road until 10am. Alayah did really well and I was very proud of her. We stopped about 4or 5 hours into the drive at Mcdonalds and let her stretch her legs and play a little. I bought her a happy meal, but she didn't eat any of it. It started snowing as we were leaving town and the wind was horrible the first leg. By the time we got to the WY/UT border it was almost a blizzard. I was glad that Alayah got to see snow for the "last" time at least for awhile anyway. It pretty much snowed all the way through Utah. We stopped after 7pm and grabbed some dinner, but Alayha still didn't want to eat. She only at half a bag of cheetos the entire day. I don't know if she didn't feel good or was just a little stressed. We finally got in around midnight and we all went straight to bed. It feels so good to finally be here.

Moment in Time Monday

Today was loading day and I forgot to take a picture with my camera so I snapped one with my cell phone. I didn't come out very well though. I am so tired from today and I am dreading the really long drive tomorrow.

Saying Goodbye

Today we spent the day with my best friend and her daughter who is Alayah's best friend. Alayah loves her friend so much that she carries a picture of her around in the car and takes it with us when we go to the movies. We played at the playland in the mall and went to a movie together. Then we went to my friends house and let them play together for a little while. I really didn't want to leave because I knew this would be the last time we would see them for a long time. It was really hard for me to say goodbye and I was sad that Alayah didn't understand that we wouldn't be seeing them again for quite awhile. This is definitely the most sucky thing about moving.

3 days left

We only have three days left here in Wyoming. I'm still not sure how I feel about moving. I am excited to move, but at the same time i'm scared of the unknown. I don't handle change well even when I ask for the change lol. Alayah is excited to move to "begas" as she calls it.

We went to a carnival themed birthday party today, which was lots of fun. Alayah was really tired though and it was very loud which she does not handle well, so she was ready to leave rather quickly. She won a thing full of suckers so she was really excited about that.

She asked to leave early and fell asleep in the car within minutes. We got home around 7 and I was just going to lay her in bed asleep, but my family wanted to go get dinner. We woke her up at the restaurant and boy was she grumpy. Luckily she went back to sleep fairly easy when we got home which was awesome.

Yay for gamma and papa

I love Alayahs new jammies and she loves her new animal toys.

Alayah was so happy to see her grandparents today. She hasnt seen them since April so she has waited a long time for today. We met them at the airport and had fun watching the planes land. I guess this means that moving is really going to happen now. :)

Denver Zoo

Today was free day at the zoo...it was mass chaos. We had to park far away and it took about 30-45 minutes just to walk to the zoo. I was tired by then lol. The waiting lines for the bathrooms were really long and it was hot. Alayah enjoyed seeing the animals and i'm glad she had fun even though I felt like I couldn't walk another step. We head home tomorrow and Alayah is super excited to see her grandparents. I still cant believe we are moving in just a couple of days.

Where is daddy?

ughh the dreaded question came up today. I told Alayah we were going to Denver and she told me no she wanted to see daddy. I had to pause for a moment because I was trying to think of the best way to explain to her. I just told her that I didn't know where daddy was. I said he went bye bye and he didn't say where he was going. She just looked at me and in a very somber voice said "okay mommy". It broke my heart. I really wished I had his phone number so I could tell him what he is doing to her, but it would only boost his ego. He doesn't feel bad when she cries for him or asks about him. It makes him feel good....wanted....etc. I think its sick. I've gotten to the point now where I don't tell him she misses him. I don't want him to feel good. I don't want him to know she thinks about him. It would be one thing if he did something about it. He just disappears. I am glad that she didn't get too upset about it and I hope she understood a little bit.

What do you wear to check the mail?

Alayah loves to walk down the block to help Nana check the mail. Sometimes she goes without pants lol

Der is Sumpteeng in my nose Mama

Alayah came to me and said "Der is sumpteeng in my nose."
I said do you have a booger in your nose and she said "no, cereals". Oh the joys of parenthood. She said she stuck a frosted flake up her nose. I couldn't see anything, but she was very panicked about it. I told her that we would have to go to the doctor to have him get it out and she said "No, its all gone now...the monstah got it out" Umm...okay lol
I took her to the doctor anyway just to be sure and of course there was nothing up there. She did awesome at the doctors and didn't even cry. Usually she freaks out once we hit the parking lot. I was so proud that she didn't cry I let her play at the playland at McDonalds which she thought was just the best thing ever.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for this cuddly little girl. We are working on her sleeping in her own room. So far I have to move her to her room after she falls asleep and then she ends up back in my room later in the night. Baby steps right lol

Mini Pumpkin Patch

A local church in our area has a little pumpkin patch to raise money for mission trips. The pumpkins are already picked and set up around their little playground so its not anything spectacular. It works for a few good pictures though lol

At peace

Alayah's dad has pretty much disappeared. He left the state and his phone is disconnected. His other daughters birthday was the other day and he didn't call to wish her happy birthday. At first I was really upset by the fact her didn't call his daughter because it showed that he doesn't care. Now I've decided that maybe that is the best. He probably won't call for Alayah's birthday and even if he does there is no guarantee that he will call every year on her birthday.
She will never have consistency with him. She will never be able to fully count on him because he cannot put anyone but himself first. A part of me feels hopeful that he will just stay invisible. A distant memory. If he isn't around at all maybe it will be for the best.
I don't know if that is what is best, but if that is what happens I am at peace with that. The last month I have stressed about him disappearing a lot. I didn't want him to do that to her. I wanted him to share in the joys of our child. I was not at peace.
All of a sudden today I just felt calm abnd peaceful about the whole situation. I don't know what the future holds, but I am grateful I am at peace for now. The things us parents go through for our kids.

Today is Alayah's half sisters' birthday. Hopefully, next year we will be able to celebrate with her.

Movie Day

Alayah loves this outfit because it says "I yuv my mama"

I love this little girl. We went to see the Legend of the Guardians. She liked it for the most part. I wish there were more movies to choose from around here.

Fun with Boxes

Alayah has found new fun ways to use our packing boxes.

I sat one on my bed and when I came back the lid was shut and she was just hanging out inside. I love seeing her creativity.

Thankful Thursday

We had portraits taken today and I am so thankful that Alayah cooperated. She did awesome and I can't wait to see how they turned out.

Fall is here

It was cold today so we had to break out the sweats.

Alayah and I played kickball in the backyard and hide and seek. I love when you say I can't find you she always says I right here lol

Alayah and Nana got some groceries and Alayah picked out some cupcakes and icing to make.

She helped me mix and she iced several and added the sprinkles. The only problem is that she only likes the frosting so several cupcakes have gone to waste.

Alayah the animal whisperer

I came outside to see what Nana and Alayah were doing and Alayah had made a new friend.

She was so enthralled watching this baby squirrel. We stuck a peanut on a stick and Alayah held it up to the baby squirrel who ended up eating it and it was so stinking cute.

That is until the mama squirrel came back and got a little defensive lol
