Today we went to the Rio Grande Zoo. It was sooo hot out. Alayah was excited to see her "zeebruhs." She really loves going to the zoo and seeing all the animals. After the zoo I took Alayah to see her sister Imani. Alayah was really shy at first and it took her about 20 minutes to warm up. She played with toys, but would really do much with Imani. Finally, she decided to be buddies with her and they played and watched tv and shared chips together. I even got them to give each other a hug and a kiss. I am so glad that Imani's mom and I can get the girls together even if it is for just once a year and even though we aren't really friends. I hope to be able to get Alayah with her brother tomorrow. Alayah is having so much fun on this trip and I am really enjoying getting to spend time with my friend.

We were going to go to church today, but we both lacked in motivation. We went shopping today and that was pretty fun. The girls did awesome during our shopping adventures. After shopping we headed to some friends house for a bbq. I was kind of bored, but I think it was mainly because I was still really tired. I just wanted to go to sleep. The girls entertained themselves really well and they kept us all laughing. I am having so much fun I don't want my trip to end.

We headed home this afternoon....I am so stinkin' tired. I am too old to be drinking all night...ughh We didn't do much today but lay around. We are both so tired and don't feel like moving around much lol. The girls enjoyed playing together again and my friend and I enjoyed catching up. Hopefully I will feel full speed again tomorrow. I hope lol My friend also taught Alayah to say "skinny butt", but Alayah says it "kinny butt" awesome

We left Denver around 9:30 and got to Albuquerque around 5...not too bad. Once we got into town we unpacked the car and then we all headed to some friends house for dinner. The girls had fun playing while the adults had some good conversation. Dinner was yummy. The adults got a little tipsy so we just stayed the night and decided to head back to my friends house in the morning. The girls act like they haven't been apart from each other at all. It is so great to see them get along so well :) I hope Alayah likes her siblings just as much when we see them later this week

This title would work well if we were flying, but its way to expensive nowadays lol After work I picked Alayah up and we started our four hour drive to Denver. Alayah did pretty well for the most part. We got into Denver around 10 and I actually found my friends house pretty easily. Alayah played while we talked for a little bit and then we hit the hay, because we have a 7 hour drive ahead of us tomorrow. Joy :)

Tumbling Week 18

Alayah did better this week than last week, but she still had her moments. Today was trophy day and stupid me forgot her camera. :( Alayah got a trophy for front roll overs. She was pretty proud of herself. We leave for Denver tomorrow night and then on to Albuquerque for a week. I am so excited to get away. :)

I finally got my bike fixed today and Alayah and I went on our first bike ride together. Afterward we came home and I mowed the lawn while she ran around. When Nana got home we tossed a ball around to each other in the backyard. Alayah really had fun doing that. I got everything packed for our trip Thursday. Yeah for me....You all know I am really bad about waiting until the last minute to get things done.
Alayah was picking flowers at daycare today and when we got into the car she asked me where my flower was only she calls flowers "flourfly's" It is so stinkin' cute how she says it lol I think she is getting it mixed up with butterfly's.

I took Alayah to see the latest Shrek movie today. She kept saying it "care me mom" before we even got there. I think she was still afraid of the "how to train your dragon" movie. I told her there wouldn't be any "bites" in the movie. She kept saying she wanted to go home before it started. Once the movie did start she was okay and she actually seemed to enjoy the movie. We went home afterwards and she took a nap while I cleaned. Then we met Nana for dinner. I had a great day with my girl.

Lazy Saturday

I took Alayah's braids out today and she had fun soaking in the tub for awhile. I didn't do much today, but clean house and do laundry so that I could get ready to pack for our trip on Thursday. I am really hoping to pack before Wednesday. I hate waiting till the night before, but I always manage to do that.

I babysat for a friend tonight and Alayah was so excited to have a friend over to play. They were so cute together pushing around their doll strollers and cooking food for me. The little boy is about 6 months younger than her, but he is just as big as she is. They both slept in my bed all night so I didn't get much sleep haha.

Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful that I have this little girl to snuggle with every night. I love how she drapes her arm over my chest as she goes to sleep...I love how she always makes sure she is pressed right next to me all night. I will definitely miss this when she is bigger

Tumbling Week 17

Tumbling was a disaster tonight. She threw tantrum after tantrum and refused to listen. I hate when she acts like that. I ended up telling her she couldn't have the snack that they gave out at the end of class. She lives for that snack so I felt bad telling her she couldn't have it, but I had to do something. I told her maybe next week she could have it if she was a good girl. Hopefully, next week goes better.

Moment in time Monday

Today Alayah had a dentist appointment. I don't have dental insurance for her and I really wish I did. Usually, her appointments are only $50 so I just budget for that. Well, we get to her appointment and they tried to get her to let them do x-rays. She sat in the chair for a minute but then freaked out when they tried to put the things in her mouth. Then we get to the chair and they start trying to explain to her about cleaning her teeth...I'm thinking ummm....you are crazy if you think she is going to sit there while you fiddle around in her mouth. Alayah ended up crying and they weren't able to clean her teeth either. They just looked in her mouth and counted her teeth. She is still missing one set of molars. They also put flouride on her teeth and then we left. I am so glad she freaked out because there is no way I could have afforded x-rays and a cleaning...ughh. It ended up being $100 just for the office visit and the flouride...sheesh

Day of firsts

First, we started the day out by dressing any our finest morning wear. A t-shirt from the day before and pink furry boots. Then we went outside and chased down the bunnies in our front yard because Alayah loves bunnies. She also loves her furry boots.

After chasing down the bunnies, we got dressed and Alayah read a book to her "baby brudder" for the first time. It was so cute.

Then we went to the park because it was such a nice day. Even though we had a snow storm two days before it was almost 70 degrees outside. Alayah got to go on her first swing of the summer. She also got to sit on her first big girl swing. I didn't let her go very high because I didn't trust that she would hold on. Good thing I didn't because she decided she was done all of a sudden and she jumped off....luckily she landed on her feet and avoided being hit by the swing in this weird manuver lol.

She got to ride on her first ride on thingy at the park too. She loved it.
After the park we ran some errands and I decided to buy her a big girl bike. She won one at the circus last week and she has been begging to ride it ever since. The only problem is it is huge and its too much work for me to push her around on it.

She loves her new bike, but she has no concept of pushing the pedals....our driveway is slightly slanted so she just kind of rolls down it. She even loves to wear her helmet which surprised me too.

A B M

Alayah has this alphabet toy that goes on our fridge and she can pick out the letter A, B, and M. I am so excited. She can pick them out now matter how much we mix them in with all the other letters. She can even recognize them written on paper. I wonder how long it will take her to recognize the whole alphabet.

TGIF

It was snowing yesterday and today it's warm...Wyoming has the weirdest weather ever.

I am so glad it's friday. It is so weird going to work when you know your days are numbered. I still have no idea what I am going to do after the layoff goes into affect. Sometimes it is defeating knowing that you are the sole provider for another life and to know that you may not be able to provide for them. I am feeling really discouraged lately. *sigh*

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for this little girls antics...she makes me laugh regularly and laughter is always the best medicine.

Tumbling Week 16

The kids had a substitute leader today at tumbling, so they had a hard time focusing as they were't used to her. She did have them trying new tricks this time though which was a nice change. After tumbling we went to Target. I could spend a whole paycheck in Target....I love that store :)

I got Alayah some new bedding and she was pretty excited to try it out. Maybe it will help her sleep in her own bed haha...wishful thinking I know. :)

Alayah's first Circus

I took Alayah to a local circus today. It was a small circus so they didn't have very much. She wasn't in a very good mood either. They had little minature ponies set up and she screamed and whined for the first half of the show because all she wanted to do was ride herself a horsie.


At halftime...I took her down and she finally got to ride a horse. She was so excited and didn't even cry when I put her on one. She sat on it like she has ridden everyday of her life lol

The horses were walking really fast, so it was hard to get a good picture because I was having to jog to stay in front of her.

After she got to ride the horse she was in a much better mood. We went back to our seats and she ate some popcorn. She thinks its funny to show me what's in her mouth when I ask to take a picture. At halftime they had a drawing for a 20" bike. They called two names for the girls bike, but no one came forward. They drew a third name and guess what....it was Alayah! Now I have a big girls bike sitting in my garage...I don't know what I am going to do with it for the next several years lol. She want's to ride it now.
