Hi-Yah Take that 2010

2010 has been a rough year. I am hoping beyond hope that 2011 is better. I feel like I'm coasting lately. I can't seem to get out of this funk I am in and I desperately need to be un-funked. I was hoping I would be able to start this weekend with my friend being here, but since that isn't happening I have to figure out how to do it on my own. I am a people person. I need friends, conversation, someone who cares to talk to me. This me myself and I stuff isn't working for me. I hate that I don't have any friends here yet. Hopefully, 2011 will bring some real live, living in the same city friends for both me and Alayah.
Today was spent grocery shopping and chilling at home watching movies. It was a good way to finish the year out together.

Thankful Thursday

Im having a hard time being thankful today. My best friend was supposed to come to town and stay the weekend with us to celebrate Alayah's birthday. I've been looking forward to this weekend since last summer. I really needed my friend to be here, but she couldn't make it because there was a snow storm that closed the road. I am beyond bummed out. Her daughter was the only one coming to the party and now Alayah isn't going to get to have a "party" like she wanted. She has been begging for a friend to play with for so long and she was really looking forward to having one here. I am thankful my friend is safe and sound even if she isn't celebrating here with us.

The best day I've ever seen

I had to run some errands today and I decided to take Alayah with me. I told her if she was good while I ran the errands that I would take her to McDonalds. We had a great lunch together talking and she loved her "ticken" dip and "fyes." She went to go play on the playland thing, but right as she got up there she had an accident. I knew I should have made her go potty first instead of asking her if she needed to go.
I was bummed she didn't get to play, but she was okay with leaving as I don't think she liked being in wet pants. Since I didn't bring any spare clothes and I still had shopping to do I ran to ross and got her some new jeans which she needed anyway because she has outgrown every pair of jeans she has. Most of them she has only worn once. After getting in the car she told me that today was the best day she's ever seen. She makes my heart happy. :)

Wocky Woad

I feel like we are on rocky roads lately....or maybe its just me who is. I don't know but things just are seeming really hard for me lately. I hope the new year will bring about positive changes for me. Alayah and her Nana always have ice cream cones...it seems like once everyday. Alayah always has "Anilla" and Nana has "wocky woad." It's there thing....just the two of them :)

The day after

I had to work today which was kind of sucky. Alayah had fun playing with all her toys and had plenty to keep her entertained while I was gone. I bought batteries for her leap frog Clickstart and we tried it out when I got home. She did awesome at it for her first time. She is really good with the mouse. I couldn't believe it. It was like she has been taking mouse skill lessons behind my back. She really enjoyed being able to do the game all by herself.

Christmas Day

Alayah actually slept in this morning. We had to finally wake her up around 9:30 so we could get the show on the road lol. She got semi-embarrassed when she came downstairs because there was three of us holding cameras and video cameras. She headed straight for the chair and covered her face. We told her Santa came and she slowly sat up and looked around.

She was so excited and quickly started unwrapping things. She was very methodical in her opening. She made sure every last bit of wrapping paper was off her gift before giving any oohs or ahhs about the toy. She cracked me up. If any of us said anything before it was fully unwrapped she would tell us to "Shhh."

She didn't waste any time and went quickly from one gift to the next.

This was the aftermath....I think all in all she had a good day. After presents we went out to eat and then came home so she could play with her loot.

Christmas is so much better now that I have her. She makes everything worthwhile.

Christmas Eve

I let Alayah open gifts from her half-sister and her cousin tonight. She was so excited to be able to open some presents.  I was really proud of her in that she didn't ask for more after opening the 4 gifts she had in front of her.

Her sister got her some horses, so she was really happy. She took them to bed with her. It took forever to get her to fall asleep so that my parents and I could assemble some of her presents.

It was like 1am before we were able to go to bed. I can't wait to see her face in the morning when she sees what Santa brought her.

Opportunity Village

We went out to eat tonight for my birthday since we ran out of time to do it yesterday. After dinner we went to this place in Vegas called Opportunity Village. It is a place that puts up tons of different christmas themed decorations sponsered by local hotels and businesses. All donations go to help people with disabilities.

Alayah saw the carousel and wouldn't do anything else until she got to ride on it. The line was pretty long, but she waited so patiently until it was her turn.

She was grumpy and wouldn't really cooperate when it came to posing in front of the different displays. She also got upset that she didn't get to see Santa because the place closed before we got through the line to see him. It was a great night and I can't wait for Christmas morning to come.

Happy Birthday to Mommy

Taking some pictures of us girls in the car...it was pouring rain outside so we had to take them in the car

I am blessed to have a baby girl to celebrate my birthday with every year. I don't know what I ever did without her.

I had brownies for my birthday cake because I am not too fond of real cake. Alayah was supposed to help me blow out the candles, but she took over and I didn't get to blow out any lol.
After brownies my parents and I went to see "Little Fockers." It was really funny.

Finishing up the cookies

Finally, felt like finishing the sugar cookies today. Alayah had fun doing it, but I think she enjoyed eating the ice again the most.

I really hope to keep this as a tradition
for Christmas every year.

I love her high mound of sprinkles or in her words "peen kles"

Alayah loves to play games on my phone. Her favorite is that cat game that repeats what you say and angry birds.

Cookies

A great way to start the day is with doughnuts from Krispy Kremes. Mmm mmm good. Although, Alayah doesn't actually eat the doughnut, she just eats the "pinkles"(sprinkles)

She did a great job this year using the cookie cutters and cut out all the dough using the cookie cutters herself.

Her favorite part was eating the icing. She doesn't eat the cookies either, she just eats the icing off of them. She is so silly.

My little helper

Alayah helped me wrap some presents today. I don't know exactly how much "help" she was, but she liked using the tape. I have put a couple presents under the tree and Alayah hasn't even tried to open them. She knows we have to wait until Christmas and I think its awesome that she is being so patient and that she is really understanding the whole Christmas thing.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for days when Alayah goes to sleep early and I can snuggle her and kiss her without her saying eww :)

Lets talk about Christmas

Everyday Alayah comes to me and says, "Let's talk about Christmas okay mom." She says lets talk about what Santa is going to bring me. She is so serious and yet super excited at the thought of Santa bringing her some toys. I love to see her excitement and I can't wait until Christmas morning to see her face when she sees what Santa brought. I am still trying to come up with our own Christmas traditions and I think I may be adding things and changing things in the years to come to make it just right for us. I want to start baking a cake for Jesus and singing Happy Birthday to Him. I want her to know its not just about Santa, but about a special baby who was born that day....One who saved us all from sin and one who loves us no matter what. :)

Meeting Santa

I was off today so I decided to take Alayah to see Santa. She was a little shy at first, but sat on his lap willingly and even smiled perfectly for the picture.
Her Christmas list is as follows:
elephants
tigers
horsey
buzz
woody
bullseye
a little man
dinosaurs
Olivia

She makes me smile and I am so not sure what the "little man" is supposed to be lol

Moment in Time Monday

The light in the living room was awesome this morning, so I wanted to take some pictures of Alayah, but she kept hiding behind her blanket. Maybe I will have more luck tomorrow

Watching the Fish go by

Alayah loves my parents huge aquarium. She pulled up a chair today and put her hands behind her head and sat back kicked her feet up and enjoyed watching the fish swim around. It was pretty cute, but by the time I got my camera she had moved. I asked her to re-create it for me so I could get a picture and at least she obliged. :)

Christmas Card Pictures

We went down to the hotel Palazzo on the Vegas strip today so I could take pictures of Alayah for holiday cards.

The Palazzo is always decorated really pretty so I was excited to see what they had set up this year.

I got a few good shots of Alayah, but she wasn't really in the mood and there were escalators nearby and this girl loves herself some escalators.

I am not sure which one I am going to use for cards. Maybe I should have stopped after the first good one lol

This one is just so Alayah. Now if only she didn't have the bruise on her eye from falling off the recliner while she was sleeping and landing on the hard tile. After taking pictures we wondered through the Venetian hotel and looked at the gondola boats. Alayah really wanted to ride one. Then we went down to Fremont Street and listened to some of the Christmas bands they had and enjoyed looking at all the "characters" walking around.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for a little girl who looks so stinking cute in her zebra pajamas. I just want to squish her when she is wearing them. At bedtime Alayah gets to pick a movie to watch. This is our nightly thing and she loves to just stand on her dresser.

I love this baby girl

I started to cornrow Alayah's hair today, but I started too far over to the right and after about three rows I just wasnt feeling it anymore. I don't know what my deal is lately, but I just do not have any motivation to do anything with Alayah's hair. The only problem is Alayah's hair is not the type you can't just let go. I hope I get out of my funk soon.
