Tumbling Week 12
A girl her Nana and Cheetos...good way to end a long day
Alayah did well today at tumbling. There were some new kids, so the structure wasn't all there from the teachers. They got down the rope swing and Alayah swung on it the first time all by herself...she thought it was pretty fun. She also is so close to doing several things all by herself. I'm excited to see how far she has come after only 12 classes.

Easter Bunny
I took Alayah to get her picture taken with the Easter Bunny today. She went right to him and at on his lap. Then she got all shy and did this weird thing she does with her mouth when she is trying hard not to smile. I thought her hair looked really cute in the ringlets, but they are hard to get out as her curls are so tight.
Nana also let her ride every single ride at the mall....She thought she was pretty special getting to do that.
New writing desk
I ordered Alayah a writing/art desk thanks to Mari's mommy. Alayah was so excited when we pulled up to the house and she saw it sitting on the porch. She was impatient though when it came to waiting on me to put it together. She was so happy to be able to sit down and color at it. Color is her favorite thing to do lately.

Tumbling week 11
Alayah did really well today. She listened and wasn't too restless. Today was picture day at tumbling and I totally forgot. Her fro was a lil too uhhh....big lol...It needed some taming, but that was a no go without a comb. Plain water wasn't helping. She posed so well for the pictures and even smiled. I am so excited to see how they turned out. While she was waiting for her turn at picutres she decided to dance on the mat and all the other girls in the room who were supposed to be doing their own activities like bars and balance beams stopped to watch her "breakdance." She had me laughing so hard. This girl brightens my day everyday. I love her so much!

Lazy Sunday
climbing the fountain at a local restaurant.
We took my grandmother out to eat for her birthday today. Luckily, they sat us next to this fountain that kept Alayah entertained for the most part. The waitresses would come out and put her on the ledge and walk her around. Alayah thought she was pretty special. A little boy from another table kept handing her money to throw into the fountain. I actually got to enjoy my meal which was a major plus :)

I tried a new style with her hair today...the ringlets turned out really cute, but they were so tight by the end of the day that they were hard to comb out.
We went to the mall to play for a little bit and Alayah decided jumping off the lil animal characters was great fun
This is how she fell asleep on the way home :)

Audiologist Appt
she was enthralled with tv
Alayah had an audiologist appointment today. I really hate that these appointments take about 2 hours because it's so hard to keep he entertained. They did a hearing test thing and they said her right tube wasn't working and the left had fluid behind it. They put her in the sound proof room and put some headphones on her. The lady was asking her questions like where are your toes etc. Alayah did an awesome job answering her questions. The lady said her hearing level was 25 decibels. Normal range is 10...obvioulsy she is out of the normal hearing range. Last time she was at 15 decibels. I don't understand why it's worse.
After the audiologist we had to wait to see the actual doctor. He said that her tubes are fine and are not plugged. His response to the hearing test was that he doesn't trust any hearing test after 3 in the afternoon...wtf? I wasn't sure if he was joking or serious. He doesn't believe she has had ear infections the last three months. He said we are going to wait and when she gets another ear infection I am supposed to take her to see him instead of her regular doctor. I am so tired of the runaround I want answers. I'm tired of forking out so much money for no answers.
We went to Olive Garden afterward and Alayah had a number 2 accident and it fell down her pant leg...luckily I caught it before it hit the booth cuz that would of been totally disgusting and embarrassing.

Tumbling Week 10
Alayah was really whiney when I picked her up today, so I should have known she wasn't going to behave very well. Her dad went to tumbling with her a couple weeks in a row, so now when we go she thinks he is going to be there. I haven't heard from him in a couple of weeks. I don't know where he lives and his phone is turned off, so I have no way of getting in touch with him. Anyway, she cried for him the moment we pulled in the parking lot. I tried to tell her I didn't know where he was, but she didn't care. "My daddy, my daddy" was all she said the whole time we were there. It was even worse inside because all the other kids dads showed up. It was embarassing too because they all kept looking at me with the pity look in their eyes. I couldn't console her nothing I said made anything better for her. She would have a few moments where she would stop crying and participate, but then she would go right back to crying.
I was so mad. I was mad that my baby was crying over a man wh0 is a really crappy parent. I was mad that I couldn't make it better and I was mad that he can't make an effort to be her dad consistently. At this point I think it is harder on her for him to pop in and maybe it would be better if he just stayed away all together. *sigh* I don't know what to do. It is just so frustrating sometimes. I know if I tell him she cries for him then that will just boost his ego and he will think he is the "bomb". That is not the feeling I want him to have.

Another Saturday
testing out the shelves at walmart
entertaining herself while we wait at the restaurant
trying on her nana's shoes
making a mess in nana's dryer
We went to lunch today and to walmart and then just hung around the house. Alayah started the morning off by storing her Gerber puffs in Nana's dryer. Then she was walking around the house in Nana's brand new leather shoes and had an accident. They filled with puddles. It was funny but Nana wasn't too happy. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry. This girl cracks us up daily

Fun with friends
We headed to a friends house tonight to have dinner and hang out. Alayah had fun playing with her friends. It's fun to watch her play with older kids and to see her try to communicate and get them to play games with her. She did awesome with saying when she needed to go potty while we were there too. She came and got in bed with me and is laying sprawled across my lap as I type this. I'm going to miss these days when she is older.

Nothings
I'm really slacking in this blog everyday thing I'm trying to do. Somedays there just isn't anything exciting to report. Alayah is still doing pretty good on the potty front. She is even starting to take herself to the bathroom which is awesome. She was really whiney tonight so she went to bed early. I'm tired myself...I've been staying up too late latelly. I also starting braiding her hair and have been too lazy to finish so she has been running around with a half braided head the last several days.

Growin'
Talking to her grammie on the phone
I am struggling with Alayah's potty training. It is awesome that she took to it so easily, but I am not ready for her to move on to this milestone. Diapers are the last baby thing for me to hold on to. I am sad that we have already reached the point that we do not need them anymore. She is such an independent little person now and I am sad that she doesn't need me as much. She is the love of my life and I am so thankful for the last two years. Isn't it amazing that God knows just the right person for us to be parents too. He blessed me with her and knew that I was just the right mama for her and that even though we butt heads we are each others best buddies as she says. I know there are many more milestones to come in her life and I am excited for the future it is so hard to let go of the past and sometimes even today.

Sunday Sunday
We went to church today and Alayah had two accidents while in the nursery for an hour. I specifically asked them to take her potty, but I don't think they did. I guess I will send her in pull ups next week. After church we went to lunch with some friends and then ran by Wal-Mart. She is starting to be funner to take places because she asks more questions and can understand what I tell her a lot better, but sometimes she is harder to take places because she wants to do what she wants to do. She also has started to ask to walk and hold my hand which is great, but the holding my hand part doesn't last too long. I can't wait till she is older and we can go to fun mommy daughter dates :)

Hanging out
We hung out at the mall today and ate lunch with my grandmother. Alayah is really starting to behave a lot more when we are out in public. She listened pretty well and even told me when she needed to go potty. She doesn't like sititng in the stroller so she will ask to walk and hold my hand...the only problem is that it doesn't last very long before she gets distracted is running off.

Friday Friday
No accidents again today. Woo hoo. I went out with a friend this evening so I didn't really get to see Alayah today. When I got home around 9:30, the girl was wired for sound. She was running around and was just having a blast in her own little world. I was supposed to change and get ready to go out again, but I changed my mind and Alayah and I layed in bed watching a movie together. It's moments like these I always want to remember.

Tumbling Week 8
practicing her tummy rockers
Alayah did pretty good at tumbling tonight....not as good as last week, but much better than usual. Today is Day 2 of intense potty training and she had no pee pee accidents. She did have one poop accident, but I am so proud of her anyway. She is doing so well for her second day.
